The Colorado Veterinary Practice Act Effective
7/1/2008 states:
12-64-103 Definitions:
Veterinary premises or premises means any veterinary office, hospital,
clinic, or temporary location in which veterinary medicine is being
practiced by or under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
Natural Pet offers Clinics at various veterinarian offices and with a
veterinarian at pet stores, grooming shops, doggie day cares etc. This
is allowed under the Colorado Veterinary Practice act.
12-64-104 License requirements and exceptions- definitions:
This article shall not be construed to prohibit any person from
performing duties other than diagnosis, prescription, surgery, or
initiating treatment under the direction and on-the-premises supervision
of a licensed veterinarian who shall be responsible for such person’s
performance.
This means as long as there is a responsible veterinarian on the
premises, anesthesia-free dentals can be offered in veterinary offices,
at pet stores, grooming shops, doggie day cares etc.
