Acupressure Natural Pet Treatments
What is acupressure?
Acupressure is a fingertip technique that uses the meridian
system and acupuncture point locations.
Meridians are energy pathways that travel just beneath the skin's
surface. They connect the body's surface with the interior
organ systems and regulate energy and blood flow throughout the
entire body.
Acupressure works to balance the body from outside to inside, by applying pressure to specific points on the body. The points are located along the acupuncture meridians or energy pathways used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupressure opens up the energy flow or "Chi" in these pathways similar to acupuncture but without the use of needles.
Over 5,000 years ago TCM doctors were only paid when their clients remained healthy. The practitioner's medical bag included such things as dietary therapy, exercise, meditation, herbal remedies, massage, oils, physical manipulation, acupuncture and acupressure.
Today TCM is used not only to benefit humans but their companion animals as well, including horses, dogs and cats. Cindy Lloyd
has completed the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Practitioner Certificate Program taught by Nancy Zidonis and Amy Snow in
Larkspur, Colorado.
